5 Minute Musical Gratitude Meditation

Hey Sunshine!☼

As much as we know how great meditation and gratitude are for us, do your eyes glaze over when someone suggests you start a meditation practice or a daily gratitude list?

I hate to admit this but mine often do!

I always want to incorporate them into my life but often think it will be too time consuming, or just plain boring. I have found a solution that works for me and that I love! It makes meditation and gratitude effortless and lifts my spirits every single time I do it:

5 Minute Gratitude Meditation to Music

  1. Pick out one of your favorite songs, one that you find relaxing & inspiring, one that really lifts you. It can be anywhere from 1-10 minutes long. My favorite song to do this activity to is George Winston’s Variations on the Canon by Pachebel. It is an instrumental that is a little over 5 minutes in length. It always touches me deeply. Your song doesn’t have to be an instrumental, but I find I enjoy them most for this activity.

2. Find a quiet private spot where you won’t be disturbed for a few minutes. You can even light a pretty scented candle if you want to go all out.

3. Start the song, close your eyes, and take three long deep breaths

4. For the duration of the song, as you are breathing deeply, just let your mind wander and picture anything and everything you are grateful for in that moment in your life.

5. When the song is over you are done!

You have completed your meditation and gratitude practice for the day.

Combining meditation, gratitude, and your favorite pieces of music make this such an uplifting few minutes! I find myself smiling throughout the practice and when I am finished, I feel so good! You will carry this feeling with you long after you finish.

What song will you choose to try this?
