I find that reading an inspiring story, or poem, or quote can really shift my day and lead me to feel lighter. I am currently reading a book all about words that inspired well-known people to do great things called The Right Words at the Right Time, by Marlo Thomas. Each chapter is just a few pages, but each one leaves you feeling quickly inspired and a shift toward feeling lighter.
Quick Reads
Daily meditation books, devotional books, and beautiful books of great quotes also have very short but powerful inspirational messages. All you have to do is read one of them and it counts as a Lighten Up Activity, because one is all you need to make a difference!
If you have a few extra minutes…
There are some motivational speakers on Youtube with short videos, and TED talks too that just leave you feeling uplifted and positive! I have also found videos of Keynote speakers at college graduation ceremonies that have some of the most amazing and inspiring speeches.
Keep it Short and Sweet
The trick is to read or listen to something relatively short because that is really all your need to shift toward a lighter feeling in your body, but if you have a few extra minutes, by all means take up that time with some amazing inspiration and watch your spirit soar!
What inspires me may be different than what inspires you, so pick something that is uniquely perfect for you!
