Imagine that feeling of sitting on the beach in a late summer’s day, relaxing with your toes in the cooling sand, a drink in your hand, and not a care in the world as you watch a glorious sunset. The golden sun setting behind the horizon, the sky turning brilliant colors of purple, pink, orange, and yellow. The light around you dimming ever so slowly and time seeming to slow down with each exhale of your breath. You are relaxed. All of your cares have fallen away and you are in an altered state of consciousness full of bliss, awe and wonder. You feel lighter in mind, body, and spirit, as the weight of the world has left you as you are completely present in the moment of the sunset.

We will stop whatever we are doing if we see a beautiful one. We become transfixed. Believe it or not, research has shown that sunsets have AMAZING mental and physical health benefits!
When you watch a sunset, you unplug and become present to the moment exactly where you are. It’s akin to what happens when you meditate. Research has shown that people's breathing slows down, their perception of time slows down, and they become more appreciative of their own life. It has also been shown that people watching the brilliant multicolored sky of a sunset, experience a deep sense of spiritual connection, inspiration, gratitude, and an increase in energy! Anxieties fall away, and depressed moods are elevated. Life seems to ease up and feel better when you are watching a beautiful sunset.
