Hey Sunshine! ☼

Going to outdoor concerts in the summer is one of the best parts of summer in my opinion. There is so much great music out there, and when you get to combine it with fresh air and sunshine it just elevates the experience to new heights. Anytime of day or night, music outdoors fills me with joy. You can often get up and dance to the music making the event even more fun.

Choose a Venue

I recently went to Tanglewood, a famous venue in Massachusetts where the best of the best classical musicians from all over the world perform. My lovely aunt gave me tickets for my birthday to see the violin phenome Hilary Hahn. OMG she was flawless, but I digress. It’s such an interesting venue because it’s partly indoors and partly outdoors. Just make sure that if you go to an outdoor concert in the evening, bring bug spray or you’ll leave with a slew of new mosquito bites.

Find an Event

Whether you like Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz, Classical, Opera, or any type of music at all, there IS an outdoor concert waiting for you! Enhance the experience and bring a picnic if you are allowed. My brother and sister-in-law sometimes tailgate before a Jimmy Buffet concert too!

One of the things I love about my town is their summer music series. Every Tuesday evening there is an outdoor music concert in our park. It gets packed with enthusiastic music lovers and their families. Also, a local art gallery in town holds outdoor jazz concerts in their backyard all summer long. Most towns or counties have some kind of summer concerts, find out where yours are and go enjoy!
